Our farm is located in Dalsland, western Sweden. About two hours by car from Göteborg, Karlstad, Jönköping or Halden in Norway. A walk away from Vänern, the largest lake in Sweden. Not more than half an hours drive from the three towns Vänersborg, Trollhättan and Uddevalla.
The history of our farm goes back to, at least, the 17th century, but most of the buildings were built around 1930. We are in the process of restoring the farmhouse from 1836 and, in co-operation with our sheep, clearing and restoring old pastureland around the house. That is, we clear and the sheep restore by grazing.
We keep about 15 Rya ewes and 2-4 rams. Keeping it small suits us, this way each of our sheep is an individual - they all have names- and we can see the difference between the 30 or so lamb that are born each year.
